8 New Evangelists-in-Training

We are overjoyed and grateful to be able to introduce you to some of our new Evangelists-in-Training, who started their journey towards becoming Commissioned Evangelists in September 2023. Here you can read a little bit more about some of the eight individuals who will be discerning God’s calling and developing their unique gifts of evangelism with us over the next three years.

“We’re really delighted to have eight Evangelists-in-Training starting their journeys with us this September. We call them Evangelists-in-Training as we believe it’s god who calls and equips them to be Church army Evangelists and our part of the process is helping them deepen their understanding of pioneering mission and evangelism. These Evangelists-in-Training are starting on three years of learning more about their vocation, including how to create new Christian communities, how to be leaders in the church and how to pioneer new initiatives to bring people to faith. We can’t wait to start that journey with them”

Jon Brooks

Jon is married with two children and lives in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, where he currently works as a tree surgeon and landscape gardener. He is excited to be training with Church Army and showing the love of Christ to others.

Jeremy Dillon

Jeremy lives in Birmingham and has experience of serving throughout the world, including Vietnam, where he was a missionary in Hanoi. He loves to travel, explore art galleries and has a passion for cricket.

Keanna Salas

Originally from Redondo Beach in California, Keanna moved to Sligo, Ireland in 2021. When she came across the Sligo Centre of Mission, Keanna felt a real calling to get involved and she now helps to run a youth Alpha course and weekly young adult groups.

Donna Holmes Elmore

Currently working as a Family and Youth Development worker for a Youth environmental charity, Donna lives in Northamptonshire. She is part of the youth ministry at her local church and she has two grown up children and a young granddaughter.

Phil James

Phil lives in Cheadle, Stockport, with his wife and teenage daughter. He has just joined a new church to help his Church Army training. In his previous church, he was active in many initiatives including teaching at a kids club for school years 5-7.
