Church Army Theological Library
The most significant theological library in South Yorkshire
About
Church Army’s Library of 15,000 theological books, journals and articles is now open again! After being closed due to COVID for over two years, the Library is now open.
Church Army’s Library is a quiet space with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. It’s the most significant theological library in South Yorkshire, with a particular focus on mission and evangelism. Alongside books on theology and mission are collections relating to diverse areas including world religions, ethics, feminist theology, fresh expressions of church, lifelong learning and ministry among children, young people, older people and the homeless.
There are desks for quiet study and free WiFi. Our library is open to those looking for a tranquil place to work, away from the distractions of everyday life. Membership without borrowing rights is £10 a year. Annual membership with borrowing rights is just £30.
If you are unable to come to the Library during the opening hours displayed on this page, you can still use our pre-order and collect service, with details here. As the Library is a confined space, users will be asked to wear masks when browsing the shelves, but masks can be taken off when working at one of the six desks, which will be located near open windows to ensure a flow of fresh air
