North Coast of Wales Centre Of Mission

Wales

Our North Coast of Wales Centre of Mission, the second CoM in partnership with the Diocese of St. Asaph, opened on 11th April 2022. The Centre of Mission will have an initial focus on Pensarn and is led by our Lead Evangelist Jo Leslie, who was commissioned as a Church Army evangelist in 2021. Jo will work with a Pioneer Evangelist to be recruited in due course, Canolfan Dewi Sant Centre (CDSC) and other local stakeholders to provide Christian love and outreach to those living in Pensarn and the wider Aled and Aber-Morfa Mission Areas.

Jo Leslie WRites…

We’re in a rural town between the sea and the A55 with a mixture of council flats and retirement bungalows.

People come here, maybe because they holidayed here as children, drawn to the seaside. But they end up in their little bungalow, on their own, away from children and grandchildren, living in isolation.

Every week our volunteers prepare a community meal for people. Anyone is welcome, but we do get regulars each week. It’s mostly to combat social isolation but the cost-of-living crisis is affecting people here too.

“Everything is so negative. The news, conversations; the cost-of-living crisis is hurting people. There’s not a lot of positivity going round. But this is such a good thing. It’s made my day coming here.”  – Martin at The King’s Table

There is no restriction on those who can come and receive a free meal at The King’s Table.

WHETHER STRUGGLING WITH THE COST-OF-LIVING OR IN NEED OF A FRIENDLY SMILE AND CONVERSATION, THERE ARE MANY CHAIRS AT THE TABLE, AND EVERYONE IS WELCOME.

Reclaim Gift Aid

Make your %PRICE% worth %GIFTAID% at no extra cost to you!

Note: if you are donating on behalf of an organisation Gift Aid is not applicable (please do not tick the box), as it is only applied to individual donations.

By ticking the “Yes” box, I agree I would like Church Army to Gift Aid my donation of %PRICE% and any donations I make in the future or have made in the past 4 years. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that Church Army will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Church Army receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we’re entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.
