Sharing the Good News

In early July, our Church Resources Team successfully completed the delivery of Faith Empowered, a training resource for local lay leaders in evangelism, to a group in the Diocese of Christchurch, New Zealand.

We started working on this project 10 months ago and have had to adapt the resource for online delivery, whilst dealing with the challenge of significant distance and time differences. The time change during New Zealand’s winter and the northern hemisphere’s summer was especially tricky. Our 8 am start turned into a 6 am start for the UK team, which made for some interesting early morning conversations!

We’ve been delighted by the feedback we’ve had, thanking our team members for their creativity, insights, positivity, humour, and resourcefulness in their facilitation. Likewise, our team enjoyed seeing how well participants engaged with the material, demonstrated creative thinking in applying it, and have even started putting theory into action. Additionally, our team also trained a smaller group of Facilitators who will take the resource and deliver it in-person locally. We’re excited to see how this will help adapt Faith Empowered to the specific context of New Zealand and how it will impact the local church
