Our Team
We’re a community of people playing our part in transforming communities across the UK and Ireland.
Jude Davis Interim Chief Executive Officer
Jude Davis was appointed as Interim CEO in 2024 following Peter Rouch’s departure from Church Army.
Jude has previously served as Vice-Chair of the Church Army Board of Trustees and as the Director of Chaplaincy and Vocations for the last 4 years. She has a wealth of experience across the organisation, with our key partners and the wider Anglican church.
Jude says: “Church Army is full of people working with great resolve to see people’s lives transformed by God’s love shared in word and action. It has a remarkable heritage of which we are all immensely proud. As I step in to lead Church Army for this time, I do so with great hope for what God will continue to do through us.”
Rowan Williams President
The former Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, was appointed as President of Church Army in December 2014, the eighth president in Church Army’s history. Prior to this, Lord Williams was a Church Army Vice President for 9 years.
Lord Williams was elected as the 104th Archbishop of Canterbury in 2002 and was previously Bishop of Monmouth and Archbishop of Wales. He spent much of his earlier career as an academic at both Cambridge and Oxford universities. After stepping down as Archbishop in 2012, he took up the position of Master of Magdalene College at Cambridge University. In December 2012, he was elevated to the peerage as a Life Baron.
The former Archbishop of Canterbury has described Church Army as a “gift to the church.”
