Helen’s Volunteer Story

“I was a volunteer at Medway Centre of Mission at our drop in church on Sunday afternoons, at Open Church on Thursday afternoons and various events on a patch of land on Chatham High Street.

People are coming to our Sunday sessions and are forming a community that look out for each other. Many are open to talking about faith and are so willing to share their stories with me.

I am thankful for the way God is moving in our area and that I am able to be a part of it. I love chatting with people about themselves and about God. I am also thankful that my volunteering has led to a part-time employed role with the Centre of Mission. I have discovered that I am able to lead a group of people on Sunday afternoons and prepare and deliver a 5 minute talk every week. I am more confident in talking about Jesus to people.”
