“I am immensely grateful to Peter for all he has contributed to the life of Church Army over the past few years. His skill and dedication were apparent right from the start. Peter has that wonderful combination of thinking strategically and acting pastorally. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with him and will miss his insights and wisdom. I hope others will join me in warmly congratulating Peter on his new role as Secretary-General of The Mission to the Seafarers where he will undoubtedly be a great asset. Meanwhile, we look forward to building on all that Peter has done and the collaborative approach he has fostered in the Senior Leadership Team. I’m enormously grateful to Jude who has accepted the Board’s invitation to take on the role of interim CEO. I have every confidence that she will use the experience she has built up to lead well through this next phase and I wish her every blessing.” 

“It has been a joy and privilege to lead Church Army for the past three years. I have shared the journey with great colleagues, volunteers and Church Army Evangelists. As I frequently say to my colleagues, it is essentially everyone else who achieves the great things that Church Army does. I enable, shape, and turn up to celebrate them and what they do. With Church Army it has been my privilege to see good news reaching into places of deep poverty, those bound by addiction finding freedom, those who couldn’t see beyond their troubles finding hope and recovery, those pushed to the edges of society understanding they are precious to God…and precious they are! The decision to move into a new stage of life and ministry has been an exceptionally difficult one. I am grateful to senior colleagues and trustees in Church Army and the trustees of The Mission to Seafarers for the grace and wisdom with which they have helped me navigate my way.”
