Location: Dundee

Closing date: 31st January 2023

Pioneer Youth Evangelist Role, Dundee Centre of Mission

This exciting role will be working with the Lead Evangelist to share the good news of Jesus Christ with the people of St Mary’s and Kirkton, making disciples and continuing to grow Cafe church in the Kirkton and St Mary’s area of Dundee particularly amongst Children and Families and Youth with little connection with church: to advocate, resource and enable evangelism.

Located in Dundee, a Scottish city on the north bank of the river Tay, the city is currently undergoing regeneration. Due to its location, Dundee has stunning views across the river and countryside meaning you are close enough to nature that you can go and explore!

Dundee is also a cultural city. There are a variety of museums and galleries in the city such as McManus Art Gallery and Museum which has a mix of art, history and environment exhibits giving you an insight into city. Dundee is also home to Scotland’s first design museum, The V and A, which has gorgeous views along the city’s historic waterfront. It features permanent displays and temporary exhibitions which showcase designs from around the world. The museum is free entry, so you don’t have to worry about forking out on entry prices! Dundee is also Scotland second poorest city and has one of the highest per capita rate of death due to street drugs.

The Centre of mission is based at St Luke’s Church part of the Scottish Episcopal Church within the Dioceses of Brechin. You will be part of a small team made up of volunteers. The team is enthusiastic and will be keen to support you. The Diocese is very small so it is easy to get to know everyone and Bishop Andrew is keen to make it a happy diocese where people feel supported.

If you want to see young people come to faith, are a pioneer who enjoy the opportunity to forge new relationships and opportunities, we would love to hear from you.
