Overview of Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work with our committed, inspiring and growing research team. Since its inception in 1997, the Research Unit (as it was called then), has been examining contemporary Christian mission and evangelism in order to understand and share how God is at work through his church. Over the years, the team has developed a strong reputation for being a credible and pioneering voice for change within Church Army, the Church of England and wider Church.

Church Army are looking for someone, with enthusiasm for research and the difference it can make, to join our team. The team works closely together to live out its Christian ethos and model Church Army values, and the post holder for this role will actively engage in this also. We are looking for someone who will be excited to research what God is doing in mission and how lives are being transformed across Church Army, sharing our belief in what we do and why we do it.

The team is highly respected for their skills and expertise and comprised of incredibly gifted people with a passion for the difference that research can make. With a growing reputation and increased demand, this is an exciting time to join the Research team and Church Army’s wider Learning and Development team, which draws together our work around research, training, leadership development and church resources.

Salary:  £21,255 per annum / £10.90 per hour

Hours:  37.5

Pension: Church Army is an auto enrolment pension employer. You will be assessed under pension auto enrolment criteria.

Annual Leave: 25 days, plus Bank Holidays (total 33 days)

Contract:  Full-Time    Fixed Term (September 2023 – June 2024)

Occupational Requirement: Due to the nature of the post, there is a requirement that the post holder has a faith in Jesus Christ, demonstrated in an active involvement in a church. Post holders must be in agreement with our vision and able to live out our values.
