North Belfast Centre of Mission

The North Belfast Centre of Mission was launched in September 2015, a partnership between Church Army and the Diocese of Connor. It is based on the Shankill Road and reaches out to the community around the greater Shankill area through:

  • schools ministry: leading assemblies and after-school clubs.
  • engaging with the local churches to see how they can best help the community and support the clergy in their mission and evangelism.
  • monthly prayer walks.
  • street outreach.
  • a weekly lunch in Belfast City Centre for the homeless and migrant communities.
  • developing a community garden on the Glencairn estate.

The Centre of Mission's key objectives are:

  • To establish fresh expressions of church and new Christian communities in North and Mid Belfast.
  • To work with other organisations, such as Summer Madness, StreetReach and Christians Against Poverty (CAP), in order to develop regular outreach in the community.
  • To train others across the Diocese in evangelism and invest in local people.
