Welcome to the Amber Project Website
The Amber Project exists to support any young person (aged 14-25) in Cardiff and the surrounding areas who has experience of self-harm.
Please feel free to look around, and if you have any questions or think that we might be able to help, please do contact us. We are available Monday - Friday 9:00-5:00 . Unfortunately the current Coronavirus outbreak has had a huge impact on our services and we are currently unable to take new referrals. However if you get in touch we will take your details and get back to you as soon as we are able to resume normal services. Visit the 'What happens next' section of the About Us page for more details.
As the Coronavirus (COVID 19) outbreak continues to rapidly develop, we have reluctantly taken the decision to close the Amber Project office and work remotely from home.
If you are a young person who accesses the project you should soon be contacted by a support worker. If you are accessing counselling, two of our counsellors (Louise and Rachel) are also offering support during this difficult period; it is not counselling as such but will hopefully provide you with emotional support,
If you currently access 'Amber' and we don't get in touch, please contact us.
Caryl and Stacey will be working office hours 9:00-5:00;
Caryl: 07905 905437
Stacey: 07450 069022
Beth and Minnie will continue to work on a part time basis;
Beth: 07817 027123
Minnie: 07719 560180
The wellbeing of the children and young people who access 'Amber' is paramount, and we ask that you bear with us at this difficult time.
If you have any questions, please do get in touch
The team here have been working hard on new ways of supporting young people: we are taking a short break over the Easter holiday. We will therefore not be available on:
Good Friday 10th April 2020
Easter Monday 13th April 2020
Tuesday 14th April 2020
If you need support during this period, please contact your G.P.'s Out of Hours Service. Or contact:
Childline: 0800 1111
Papyrus hopelineuk: 0800 068 4141 : 2:00pm- 10 pm (Weekends and Bank Holidays).
Our thanks go out to our workers who have given up holiday time booked over the school holiday period to continue to offer support.
Unfortunately we are unable to take new referrals at this time. Prior to closing the office we made a huge effort to contact everyone on our referral list. If you have been referred to the project please be reassured that we will be in touch as soon as we are able to resume normal working.
