Details The Pioneer Evangelist will connect with people outside of the Churches, bringing Christian hope and love to all. Creative and fresh approaches to ministry and outreach will be encouraged and explored. This role as Pioneer Evangelist, provides the opportunity to explore new ways of envisioning and developing a contemporary Christian witness for the people of Ballina and beyond.

The successful candidate will work alongside our existing Centre of Mission team in the area of Pioneer Evangelism to the people of Ballina. The Centre of Mission is an outworking of Ballina Churches Together, an ecumenical group set up to coordinate ministry provision in areas of shared concern and interest.  We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic person to share the love of God in word and service amongst the people of Ballina.
 
Salary
 
€30,205.39 pro-rata, including a premium for Sunday working
Hours     16 hours per week (including regular evenings and weekends as part of the role).
 
Annual Leave 24 days  pro-rata plus public bank holidays (33 days total).
 
Contract Part-Time, Fixed Term (18 months due to funding)
 
DBS  Garda Vetting clearance will be required for this post as it involves working with vulnerable adults and/or children, and compliance with Church Army’s Safer Ministry Policy. Applicants who are called to interview will be required to sign a statement relating to any criminal record or other relevant matters, as required by The Church of Ireland Safeguarding Trust policy, which will then be verified by application for an enhanced disclosure. 
 
Notice 4 weeks (after probation period).
 
Occupational Requirement This post is subject to an Occupational Requirement under the provisions made in the Equality Act 2010 that the post holder has an active faith in Jesus. The successful candidate must be in agreement with the vision and values of Church Army and the Church of Ireland.
