Details The Chocolate Box ministry serves vulnerable women by sharing with them the love of Christ through friendship, hospitality, conversation, and in other appropriate ways. 
 
Part of your time will be undertaking front line work, that will include outreach to sex workers as well as other vulnerable women.  You will lead a small team  and a group of committed volunteers.  You will develop the service in innovative ways, responding to the women’s evolving needs, and you will seek to maximise its impact in bringing hope and healing.   You will establish appropriate expressions of Christian community where vulnerable women feel welcome and valued. 
 
The ideal candidate will have a vibrant Christian faith, and will have worked in relevant fields. You are comfortable working in partnership with agencies and other networks, and in gathering and empowering small teams.  You are a compassionate and practical person who naturally communicates the Good News through action, word and lifestyle.  You are committed to high professional standards and to ensuring that the team is continually learning.
 
Salary
 
£23,666 per annum
Hours     37.5 hours per week (including evenings and weekends as part of the role and flexibility is required)
 
Pension If a Church Army commissioned, evangelist or ordained, non-contributory, operated by the Church of England Pensions Board.

If not Church Army commissioned, then the employee will be assessed under auto-enrolment pension legislation and if eligible, minimum contributions will be made.
 
Annual Leave 25 days plus public bank holidays (33 days total).
 
Contract Full-Time, Permanent
 
DBS  An enhanced DBS check required and compliance with Church Army’s Safer Ministry policy.
 
Notice 4 weeks (after probation period).
 
Occupational Requirement Due to the context & nature of this role, the post holder must be female. This position is exempt under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.

This post is subject to an Occupational Requirement under the provisions made in the Equality Act 2010 that the post holder has an active faith in Jesus. The successful candidate must be in agreement with the vision and values of Church Army and the Diocese of Sheffield.
