Details This is an exciting opportunity for a pioneering Lead Evangelist, Lay or Ordained, to minister across two estates in Rochdale.  Renewing Rochdale is establishing an ambitious network of interventions to revitalise the Christian witness and develop new and innovative fresh expressions of church. Rochdale CoM is one of four teams that will minister and plant churches across the town, whilst providing mutual support and prayer. 

As Lead Evangelist you will be excited by living and working amongst people deeply disconnected from church, who face many challenges typical to urban estates, and be passionate about helping them to discover the joy and freedom of faith in Jesus Christ. You will communicate the good news by word, action, lifestyle and prayer, and will establish new Christian communities through building relationships, evangelistic projects and growing teams of volunteers. You will be joined by a Pioneer Evangelist who you will share in appointing. The CoM will resource and enable other churches in the Rochdale Deanery, that they may become more confident and capable in evangelism.

Salary
 
£23,666 per annum 
Hours     37.5 hours per week, including evening and weekend work
 
Pension If a Church Army Commissioned evangelist or ordained, non-contributory, operated by the Church of England Pensions Board.

If not, Church Army Commissioned then the employee will be assessed under auto-enrolment pension legislation and if eligible, minimum contributions will be made.
 
Annual Leave 25 days, plus public bank holidays (33 days in total) 
 
Housing
 
Housing appropriate to the needs of the ministry and of the Evangelist will be rented on or adjacent to the estate.
Contract Open-ended (Funding anticipated for 5 years initially)
 
DBS
 
An enhanced DBS check required and compliance with Church Army’s Safer Ministry policy.
Occupational Requirement
 
This post is subject to an Occupational Requirement under the provisions made in the Equality Act 2010 that the post holder has an active faith in Jesus. The successful candidate must be in agreement with the vision and values of Church Army and Manchester Diocese.
