Details We are looking to appoint a gifted evangelist who is passionate about seeing communities transformed with the good news of Jesus. 

Gloucester & Forest Centre of Mission is an exciting new partnership between the Diocese of Gloucester and Church Army, with two evangelists serving the areas of Matson, an outer estate in the city of Gloucester, and Coleford and surrounding villages in the Forest of Dean. The centre will pioneer ways of reaching areas that are not normally touched by the church, and will serve as a model to encourage evangelism more widely. The lead evangelist will lead the whole centre, with a personal focus on Matson. The role will be 80% pioneering locally and 20% wider work supporting evangelism across the Diocese.

If you’re passionate about unlocking God’s potential in people’s lives, embracing the difficult, activating change, and building communities, then we’d love you to apply.  You are imaginative about evangelism, and ideally have experience of pioneering.  You will seek to establish new Christian communities.  This will involve running evangelistic projects, growing teams of volunteers, and helping churches to develop their own evangelism, as part of a holistic approach which expresses the gospel in word, action and lifestyle


As a lead evangelist you will model the values of Church Army as well as having a passionate faith in Jesus; you will have a good self-care discipline and be willing to grow and learn as a leader. The successful candidate will be a strong team player who is able to build and lead Christian community. 
Salary £22, 815 per annum
 
Contract
 
5 years (fixed-term contract)
Hours 37.5 hours per week, including evenings and weekends
 
Housing
 
Provision of a house within the Matson Benefice
Pension If a Church Army commissioned evangelist, non-contributory, operated by the Church of England Pensions Board.
If not Church Army commissioned then the employee will be assessed under auto-enrolment pension legislation and if eligible, minimum contributions will be made. 
 
Annual Leave 25 days per year plus bank holidays (33 days in total). 
 
DBS Requirement An enhanced DBS check required and compliance with Church Army's Safer Ministry policy.

The successful candidate must be in agreement with the vision and values of Church Army
